Luminescence
Projection Mapping Installation
This projected animation contains archival documents including fragments of Greenwich Village maps and re-animated stills of queer women activists who wrote themselves into U.S. History: Marsha P. Johnson (1945-1992), Audre Lorde (1934-1992), Barbara Gittings (1932-2007), Sylvia Rivera (1951-2002), and Stormé DeLarverie (1920-2014). In the background of the animation is a composition inspired by the architectural components of the Stonewall Inn, utilizing the archway of the mapped building to incorporate an element of site-specificity.
This piece was included as part of a larger body of work collectively made alongside Video Art Students at the University of Missouri and was presented at Digital Graffiti in Alys Beach, Florida in 2022.
